Loon-A-TiK
Hello, I currently take 300mg of Seroquel at night. It no longer puts me to sleep in any way, it may be activating if anything. I want to add Seroquel to my AM routine to combat workplace anxieties (I go to work every day thinking I'm going to be fired. I'm in CBT for this, but I'm interested in meds as well). I know that I need a dose over 200mg to stay away from sedation. It looks like I'll be up to 600mg. How does this work? Will my pdoc build me up at night until I'm on a high enough dose for it to be non-sedating in teh day? love and light, Melinda aka Loon
Fiona
I take 600mg of Seroquel now. Like you, I take 300mg at night. I take 100mg/morning, 100mg/mid-afternoon, and 100/mg evening. I don't have any trouble with feeling sedated during the day, and I definately benefit from this dosing schedule (and have to take something else on it too, so it's not such a big deal). I found this schedule to be better than a single larger dose in the morning. Fiona
Loon-A-TiK
I just don't know- I'm trying to deal with anxieties- will smaller doses put me to sleep? You said you don't get sedated, and neither do I at 300mg, but it used to on the lower doses. I'll run that by my pdoc and see if it is a plan! Velvet Elvis
It's my impression that once your total daily dose gets above a certain level, it is not sedating regardless of when you take it.
Anelize
I'm on a total daily dose of 600mg (200mg in the am and 400mg at bedtime) and I'm not having any problems with sedation at work. I sleep well at night, with my current mix of meds. I also am fanatical about keeping a religous sleep schedule of 11-6:30. If I waver from that I really start to see changes in my mood and/or anxiety/irritability levels. It took a few months of mood charting for me to figure that out, and I stick to it 90% of the time. I could stay up all night if I let myself. Bad juju.
