Seahawks0101 Posted May 3, 2014 Share Posted May 3, 2014 Is anyone on this combination? The doctor put me on 1500 mg deoakote in the morning and 40 mg geodon and 40 mg geodon at night. This knocked me on my rear-end. I was so tired I couldn't work. I had to switch to taking 80 mg geodon at night that works ok except around 5 PM I start to feel real bad mentally I’m talking to the doctor Monday again. Here's how my cycle of Depakoate DR is going: Day 1 - 500mg Day 2 - 500mg Day 3 - 1000mg Day 4 - 1000mg Day 5 - 1500mg Day 6 - 1500mg * I'll be re-evaluting with pdoc once on Day 5. My doctor likes to go conservatively, but on the other hand, if you were bouncing off the walls, you may need a higher loading dose. To answer your question, Depakoate helps me sleep nicely, so it seems to reason with me that you'd fee drowsey on it as well as Geodon (I have no experience with Geodon, sorry). The doctor gave me Geodon that seems to work slow me down so its working well at night. So far no problems to day. crtclms Posted May 5, 2014 Share Posted May 5, 2014 I was on Geodon and Depakote for about two days. I didn't like it. I hardly ever insist on stopping a med after a day or two, but I did this time. Geodon has a short half life so it has to be taken twice a day or you get intra-dose withdrawal, which could be the strange feeling at 5pm. I'm seeing the doctor on 27 May and plan on talking about talk about taking the Depakope and one Geodon at night. This combination makes me very tired. Not taken together I'm not tired as a matter of fact, I have alot of enegry but not mania . I do miss the maina I feel old now. I use to be able to do crossfit 3 to 4 times a week and run 3 times a week. Now I am super sore and take much longer to recover. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Knocked me out, and my morning dose made me so loopy that I ended up having to go home from work because I couldn't stay upright. I lied to my boss and told her I'd taken Benadryl. I started taking both doses before bed, but I had the same issue of feeling terrible mentally at night, almost around the same time that you do. If you decide to stick to Geodon, the sedation effect eventually lessened, but not enough that I could ever take it in the morning. Plus, it didn't help my depression enough.
