cao2094
I was wondering if anyone notice serqouel starting to work when they got upto the 200mg mark? I have been on 50mg at night for about a week and am looking to go up.The new Pi sheet from the website says it can be upped every 3 days from how i read it. So if the range for depression is 150-300mg you should feel the effects pretty fast then right? I cant handle any SSRI/SNRI medication so this is all im on at the moment.thanks
Savannah
I think it didn't kick in for me until about 300. I take 500 but has been as high as
tryp
It can be upped every three days, but some doctors like to go more slowly to make sure that side effects are manageable and that you end up on the lowest dose necessary to help with your symptoms. What did your doctor recommend in terms of dosing?
cao2094
I wasnt getting notifications for some reason so sorry for the delay in replying. Originally my doctor said she wanted to up it every 2 weeks by 25mg. I dont believe she knows to much about it or maybe she was just playing it safe. At the moment all i feel is just tired and usually knocks me out pretty fast when i take them at night. Also, i couldnt handle taking them 2 times a day because all i would do is sleep. I dont work at the moment so i guess i could handle sleepy side effect for the most part. Someone told me on another forum that at 200mg the dopamine effect starts to kick in. I had a dna test to show which medications might work for me and antipsychotics or mood stabilizers were my options.I just need something to level out my dopamine as it says im in a hyperdopaminergic state so my doctor started me on a antipsychotic to hopefully level me out. tryp
If you feel like your dosing schedule is too slow, you really need to be discussing that with your doctor. It's not safe to be changing doses on your own.

mjs190
I noticed some benefit when I hit the 150 mg mark. But once I increased to 200 I felt fantastic. 300 felt like a bit much, but I also take other medications. If you're using Seroquel as an AD, and not to augment one, perhaps 300 mg is a good idea. Best to ask the doc.
Nataliecat
hi I think it works on different dopamine receptors at different doses and only becomes a sedative at 300mg? I am not sure about this. I also think it doesn't act as an anti psychotic until 400mg? x
