beth05
I'm so glad to have stumbled across y'all. My name is Beth and I have treatment resistant MDD and Anxiety. I've had this on and off since I was a kid, but it's been almost constant for the last 11 years. I took Zoloft for a few years and it worked pretty well. But then it stopped working. For the past 3 years I've taken just about everything imaginable with no success. Now I have a new psych and he's trying me on Zoloft again. I just stopped 450 of Welbutrin that I was taking with Zoloft because it didn't really do anything but make my stomach hurt. Last week he started me on Adderal. I also take Ativan. Anxious to see how it works out. I'm so happy to have found this site. It's a lonely disease. Most people have no idea what it's like. If one more person tells me to just make up my mind to be happy, I might lose what's left of my mind. Anyway, I hope to meet people like me and maybe learn some stuff I don't yet know. We ask all new folks to read the rules (link in the bottom-right corner of the page) just in case you missed them earlier. It helps to avoid confusion later on. brainweather
weclome to cb, beth. i also have treatment resistant MDD and misc anxiety disorders, so i can relate to you a lot. i hope this site can bring you comfort. i've been on zoloft several times during my life and i've found it quite helpful for my anxiety, but not so much for depression. i've gone off it due to weight gain but i come back to it because of its effectiveness. olga
Welcome to Crazyboards. I hope you enjoy being a part of our crazy happy family. Oh, and I can almost guarantee you that no one here will tell you to just think positive thoughts and your depression will lift. That statement would start an armed insurrection in this neighborhood! olga
peacelizard
Hey Beth! I just joined this forum too, so we're in the same boat. Hope you enjoy your time here. I took Zoloft at one point too. I thought it was really helpful for depression/social anxiety, but it gave me really awful gastro-intestinal issues, so I had to stop it. Plus, there was a possible hypomanic episode on it, but it was never confirmed. Haha.
San
We're not the "positive thoughts and everything will be unicorns and rainbows" type forum, as olga said. But CB is still a great place for support. I hope to see you in chat, I must have missed you. I'm in there a lot. Way to go on jumping right in. Post where you feel comfortable. Welcome to CB!
