New here, saying hi.

Recommended Posts

I stumbled upon this forum while looking up a medication side effect. I've already posted on that particular thread and pretty much introduced myself there, but thought I'd pop in here and say hi, so this may be a recap if you're on the other thread.

I've been managing my wessonality for about 25 years now with medications. I was on lithium, Zoloft, and as-needed Klonopin. This regimen worked well for about 15 years. When I hit 39 it seemed like my poles shifted, so I switched it up a bit and was on Lamictal, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, and as-needed Klonopin. Everything was hunky-dory. I just recently switched off my Zoloft to Brintellix in the hopes of getting rid of a long-term side effect from the Zoloft. We'll see how that works out.

Other than the meds mentioned above, I've tried a whole slew of medications ages ago (mostly because I was thought to have unipolar depression and wasn't treated with the right medications for a long time) and either don't remember why I didn't like them or just plain don't remember them.

Over the years I've learned to take things as they come. I've mellowed with age and medication, and have been fortunate to be able to arrange my life so that it suits me rather than other people. I get through life usually by seeing how ridiculous it often is, especially by laughing at myself and by keeping things in perspective. Oh yeah, and by having animals - currently three cats (they help immensely). I also occasionally borrow a kid, usually a niece or a nephew.

So there you have it. Howdy.

Welcome, lodipants.  I hope you don't really have a load in your pants. :)  Very uncomfortable.

Anyway, I hope you stick around and get to know us.  This is a great bunch of people.
