peacelizard
How long, on average, did you go bbefore noticing side effects? I'm just curious 'cause I'm on Day 4 and haven't noticed anything. Am I out of the woods or not even close?
jt07
People vary. I got side effects right away, but I REALLY got side effects when I went up to 300 mg. If you are not getting side effects so far, consider yourself lucky. I hope it continues to go smoothly for you.
confused
Wellbutrin I felt speedy right away, like I drank a pot of coffee. That went away soon. I don't think I have many side effects from it. I do have dry mouth and I am not sure which of my meds cause that.
CirclesOfConfusion
I've never had side effects that I noticed on any dosage of WB XL. I only remember feeling a little speedy and jittery for a few weeks way back when I had a doc that prescribed me WB SR and said to take all 300mg all at once in the morning. That was back when I didn't know anything about meds so I had no idea at the time that the SR version is sometimes/often better taken 2-3 times a day, not all at once. Wonderful.Cheese
I take 150mg of the XL. It was making my anxiety too bad above those doses. I have taken up to 450mg of it before though so I don't know what my deal is now. I hope you have zero side effects.
peacelizard
Appreciate the kind words, guys. So far, so good. Maybe a very mild increase in my sex drive and energy but that's about it. Nothing negative to report. But I'm only on 150mg and my pdoc wants to be very conservative titrating up as I have considerable anxiety as is and doesn't wanna make it worse. I think he said I'll stay at 150mg for a week or two and make sure nothing bad happens and then go up to 300mg.
melissaw72
It increases my energy and my mood gets better, but no other side effects ... that stand out at least.
peacelizard
I may have spoken too soon, but hard to tell. Earlier today, especially in the morning, I felt almost flu-like symptoms -- scratchy throat, lethargy, body aches. Still don't feel too hot. Doubt it's the actual flu but don't want to blame the medication just yet 'cause my sleep last night was terrible too.
koa
I was extra hyper the first week I took wellbutrin and then didn't notice any side effects. Tell your pdoc about the flu like symptoms.
Arj72
I've had an increase in anxiety over the first week and lack of appetite. I just started week 2 today. Feeling pretty down. Not sure why. I actually had a great night of sleep.

peacelizard
I met with my pdoc today and we talked about whether I wanted to wait another week at 150mg or bump it up to 300mg. I said what the hell since the flu-like symptoms cleared up and other than a little extra gas it hasn't been too bad. So, tomorrow's the day. He seems to think not much is going to change and I would tend to agree with him. There's just a little nagging voice in the back of my head saying "But what about the anxiety?" I dunno. I dunno what'll happen, but fuck it. We'll find out tomorrow.
quiet storm
I tried Wellbutrin years ago to quit smoking. Lasted 5 days. The lack of sleep just about did me in. If it wasn't for that I'd try it again. But I know I just wouldn't be able to sleep on it. Maybe I didn't give it a long enough trial but I hate getting my sleep messed with. peacelizard
So far it hasn't messed with my sleep, which is nice since my sleep could be better to begin with. It's definitely increased my energy and sex drive some. Also possibly a little more confidence and motivation. No changes to anxiety, positive or negative. peacelizard
Anyone else experience their thoughts slowing down at 300mg? It's kinda nice!
MisterJoshua
I completely lost my appetite at 300 mgs and my anxiety has been much worse. But I'm not falling into the black hole of depression so I'll take it. It has been two months since I went to 300. Don't think these side effects are going away.
