My care team sucks! I'm livid!

Ok. I can handle things. Like not being called back. Poor treatment. Inefficiency and inadequacy. Idiocy. I don't know. Sure I get mad but I can handle it.

But they KNOW we order through mail order pharmacy because it is WAY cheaper. I'm not a new patient. I've been going through the county clinic for at least 8 years by now.

Well they just changed their med room into an "official" pharmacy. And my stupid fucking idiot pdoc wrote my last prescriptions for 30 days. And he stupid fucking idiot nurse did not use mail order pharmacy.

1. Mail order is 90 day supply only

2. They used their own med room pharmacy instead of mail order

3. They did not inform me of this

SO, why does it matter? Well our account was just charged $400 nearly for a month of abilify. @&$:/$!!!!!

I'm livid. We are in the process of buying a twin home. We don't have that extra money right now. Never would anyways.

Did I mention I'm livid? And they are closed today for the holiday. And I'd imagine we will never see that money back because we have ALREADY BEEN CHARGED. It may just overdraw our account this month. I'm ready to scream! I'm getting more and more manic too and this is not helping matters. Also pdoc won't help me til end of June when I see him. No med changes over the phone. Does he want me to end up in the stinking fucking psych hospital? I swear I will punch him in the face if I end up there.

That's fucking awful, cheese. They KNEW you used a mail in pharmacy. I find their actions devious or just plain stupid. I would ask them to reimburse the 400 dollars-it's a long shot, but that's a ton of money, and they fucked up. You have every right to be livid.

The clinic should not have filled the prescriptions at their pharmacy nor charged you for them without your authorization.  Did you ever sign paperwork allowing them to do this?  You may be able to successfully dispute a credit or debit card charge if not.  You may also be able to have a withdrawal from your checking account reimbursed if it was drafted directly from there--your bank's customer service folks should be able to help you.  If you did not authorize the charge and the clinic refuses to refund you you have a right to dispute the charge and will most likely have the dispute settled in your favor.  I'm so sorry this happened, Cheese.  It is beyond ridiculous.

I agree with all of this.

seashells has a good point. Call the bank and say there was an unauthorized transaction. If you do online banking, have it open so you can tell exactly from what and how much.

I'm sorry you're going through all of this. What a rotten doc, and pharmacy.

You can also report the pharmacy to consumerist.org - they can tell you if you should talk it to the BBB or not.

They can also draw attention to it so that money that should be refund will be where it otherwise might not be.

I hope all goes well, glad you're bringing your husband with you. Hopefully it gets solved ASAP. That's a LOT of money for them to take. I can't believe they did that behind your back. That's criminal!

Well. I'm doing it. I'm breaking free from the sucky care team at the county clinic. I've put in calls to two places to see if they are taking new patients. I am so beyond fed up with the damn clinic.

I'm feeling hopeful for the first time in a while.

I hope one of those places are taking new patients.

They are denying me my groups and saying I won't need a case manager or the team in a while. So why am I sticking around for a crummy pdoc? Also, they are saying I might not even get a pdoc and use my therapy skills. Wtf?!?!?! I'm beyond freaked out by this. It's not a guarantee but they are focusing on independence. Which is not a bad thing. But I need a pdoc and meds for life. I know I do.

Wtf?! Personally, no amount of "therapy skills" has been able to help me when I'm psychotically manic and out of my fucking mind. I need to have my sanity in order to employ skills.

I'm glad you're looking for new places, Cheese. I really, really hope you find a better place.

Thanks shells!!

I got in with a good looking place on July 9! She is a psych NP. She works with the main pdoc there. It is a tele-conference Skype thing I guess? As she is in a different town. They said if I don't like that then I can switch to the pdoc who is a male.

They didn't give me any grief about already having care or anything. They were very nice on the phone. The other place I called was full.

Do I keep my appointment with my current pdoc in June? I'm not sure what I should do regarding that.

As tempted as I am to just cut ties with the county clinic RIGHT NOW, I think I should keep my pdoc appointment with current pdoc just in case this place is a whack-a-doodle joint.

I have high hopes though as I just read the main pdoc was a former CEO of the most popular psych hospital in town.

I kind of remember him I think. He would work as a tech if they were short people. How many CEO's would do that? Not many!!! If this is the guy I remember I would be lucky to just be under his care if only through his psych NP!!!

If it were me, I'd keep the appointment with my current pdoc until I was sure that I was moving. It's not a good idea to burn bridges until you know you have found a good place.

Thanks JT. This is what I was thinking. It would be too impulsive of me if I burned bridges too fast.

This would freak me out too.  I am at the highest level of independence I can be right now, and if someone was pushing for more it would really bother me, and probably make me feel invalidated too about my life (even though I know in my heart that I am where I can be now without stuff like hallucinations, extra stress, etc being there).
