iaawal
I'm on Lithium, Prozac and Risperdal. All have been increased in the past week but the latest was the Risperdal. I went up to .5mg on Saturday (5/24/14). Right now I have finger tingling and numbness but only on the fingertips (like under my nails). I'm guessing this is a side effect of one of my meds. I'm thinking the risperdal may be the culprit since it's the last one added and I tend to be sensitive to antipsychotics even on low doses (got akathesia on 1mg of Abilify and EPS on 7.5mg of Zyprexa). I have been feeling inner restlessness in the past few days but not as severe as it was when I went on Abilify. Anyone experienced this before? It's quite bothersome especially since I'm on my computer all day at work and I have to type. Not fun typing with tingling fingers. I'm not diabetic or pre-diabetic, I am overweight but am working out. I have an appointment with my pdoc next week and if it continues I'll bring it up with him. If you have experienced this before, did it go away or did you go off the med?
shesellsseashells
I don't have any experience with Risperdal, and this may be unrelated, but I was having strange sensations in my hands and fingers a few months back, and another member suggested drinking more water. That helped me. I'm not sure if you're experiencing something different but thought it was worth mentioning. I hope the side effect goes away soon. manicgem
I've had similar numbness in my hands and arms, but our only common med is Lithium. Have you had your levels checked recently? That symptom was attributed to my thyroid problems (hypothyroidism caused by lithium) in the past.

I have not had my levels checked because my pdoc hasn't requested that but I'm seeing him next week and am requesting to get them checked. I typically drink 80 oz of water a day but I typically the majority towards the middle of the day. I'll try spacing it out.

Outinspace
I had the same issues when upping my adderall years ago. I started taking Chelated Magnesium mornings and night with water and the tingling feeling was gone in about a week. Do you get enough magnesium? How did you figure out that you needed more magnesium?
