CrazySoprano
Hi everyone! I've been on 450 mg Wellbutrin XL for about three years. I went to get a refill today, and noticed when I got home that I had been given IC Budeprion SR. Is this the same? Is Budeptrion SR the same as Wellbutrin SR? Thanks! ~CS
charmed
the Budeprion SR is the same as wellbutrin SR but NOT the same as wellbutril XL. did you doctor change your prescroption?
Steve@3AM
Bupropion is the generic for Wellbutrin. Never heard of Budeprion! However I Googled it and it says it's the "AB rated bioequivalent of Wellbutrin"! Live and learn! Steve
Velvet Elvis
Budeprion is Teva's branded generic Wellbutrion-SR. It makes no sense to me either.
CrazySoprano
Update: I think my doc just called in the wrong thing. They do all their records-keeping on a computer, and they have to pick meds from a pull-down menu. Maybe she accidentally clicked on Wellbutrin SR instead of Wellbutrin XL in my initial consultation. To my knowledge, there is no generic for WB XL. In any case, I know there can be some variances with generic drugs. Regular Wellbutrin XL has worked for me, and I see no reason to switch to a generic that may or may not work. In any case, I got my WB XL and all is right with the world. Thanks for all your help! ~CS
