Emily B
Is anyone else on zuclopenthixol? It seems to be quite a rare AP. It's an older typical, an isomer of clopenthixol. I find that it has a lower side effect profile than the AAPs which I've tried (risperidone, olanzapine, aripiprazole). The problems that it has is that it makes me twitch a bit when I try to lie still, and has a negative effect on my memory. Earlier today I forgot where Prague is - doh! mellifluous
Zoplicone is not approved in the states is the reason I've not been on it. I'm replying though because I have been on clopenthixol before, which is similar, as you said, and it worked well for me at the time. It's not approved in the states either and so I was switched to loxapine, I think...it might've been that's when I went to stelazine...upon returning here. It was several years back. At any rate, I find the side effects are far fewer for me on typical antipsychotics as well though they suck for formal thought disorder for me and I'm relegated to one of each. Glad to hear it's working well for you!
mellifluous
Oh! Also wanted to mention that there's relief for the EPS bits as I didn't notice cogentin artane or propranolol in your signature. You might, if the twitching and restlessness gets worse, mention to your provider to see what options you have. I've taken all three at different times and found each useful in its own right. I take propranolol now and it's a lifesaver. Perhaps literally.
