New Guy in Colorado

Recommended Posts

I'm Crodentia, a 29-year old Coloradoan. I was diagnosed in early May with bipolar 1 disorder and PTSD, though I've been seeing a therapist since March. I'm on Lithium, Prazosin, and Vistaril. I'm open to any question, so if you're curious about anything, feel free to ask.

Hiya, rules at bottom right corner, hope you like it here and get what you want/need out of the site.

PTSD board here's a bit slow, so good to see another poster with it.

Thank you all for the welcome. The rules seem easy enough (don't be a jerk, remember folks here have issues just like you, etc.). I have gotten to the bipolar forum, and will probably get more into the PTSD side of things when my therapist and I start discussing that. :wall:  (not really looking forward to having that conversation with my therapist, but oh well).

Howdy and welcome, I'm quite new too and have found CB to be a great place.

I hear what you're saying, not looking forward to that conversation with your therapist. While I've found some of the difficult topics to be some of the most healing, remember that it's okay to go at your own speed and to talk about your hesitance with your therapist if you choose.

Of course you can talk about that here if you want, just as you now can seek MI support throughout your therapy process, ask questions, vent frustrations, share triumphs, etc. As you've likely gleaned, the boards are comprehensive and I've found the members and moderators (mods) compassionate and wise, both in the threads and in chat. See you around the community. : )

Thanks for the welcome, beenaround. I know that conversation will be a healing one, but I get overly nervous about things. It's something I'm working on. This board has been great, and I appreciate the folks here tolerating my shenanigans. See you around. :)

Hi. We interacted briefly on one of the boards, but I wanted to give you the official welcome. And also ask, is that your Hammie in the picture? Is he a Syrian?

I don't own a hamster, because my Dad owns cats. I found him on Pixabay.com. If I got a hamster, it would be a black one.

Yes. I have a gigantic and ridiculously furry white Syrian officially named Elphonso, whom we have taken to calling Hammie.

He looks a lot like this :

I haven't seen one like that. He is very furry!

yes. It's hard to tell where hamster ends and the fur begins. He's the size of a really large baked potato, but I suspect that if we shaved him he'd be closer to the size of a mouse. But he won't let me hold him, because we've not done a good job of taming him. Partly, I think, because I was on lithium when we got him and my hand shook every time I approached him.
