I found this website while researching things about my condition.  Although it might be hard to say, it's good to know that I'm not alone.

For years I have I suffered from a cyclic anxiety disorder.  The first time this happened was when I had first started college.

I had a 'breakdown' during my sophomore year and had no idea what was happening to me, so I ended up going to the emergency room convinced that I was dying or going insane.

Since then I have been on different medications that have helped to various degrees.  Because of support from my friends and family, I have been able to manage my condition and go on in school and work.  Currently, I'm a PhD student in the field of linguistics.

In spite of everything I still suffer some really tough times.  As I said, my anxiety is cyclic. Often I function very well without much anxiety.  However, once a year or so I suffer a 'breakdown' and get debilitating anxiety.  Luckily, my friends, family, and wonderful psychiatrist have helped me make it through these times.

Hey! Nice to meet you. I'm part of the anxiety club too. We're an elite group that only let in the best. Just so you know.

Also, did you grow up in Indiana or go to school there? Just curious 'cause I have a bunch of relatives on my mom's side of the family that live in Indy!
