sonicwhite
I know Effexor acts like a SSRI until 225 than a SNRI....The only benefit i get from Mirtazpine is it helps me sleep so I can't really judge what a pill is doing like that....Does it help you focus? Energy? or is it a mood lifter also?
MiaB
As far as I can understand it, the fact that an SNRI works on two neurotransmitters (serotonin and norepinephrine) is supposed to make it more effective at bashing treatment resistant depression than plain old SSRI's. I'm afraid I don't know much about the actual pharmacological action - hopefully someone else here will. I'm moving this to the AD board so it gets a wider audience.
