Meezers
Hello, Exhausted so please be patient w me.... Took Provigil 50mg first day felt fine, able to get done what I needed to get done, and not be in bed all day...by no means was there a stimulant effect similar to other stimulants. Provigil just kept me awake. Second day took 50mg again...felt like I took a benzo...extremely sedated, out of it, trouble with cognition, and became extremely depressed and napped. I was prescribed this in the hopes it would help ...but if anything I'm feeling much worse, more exhausted, signifigantly more depressed. Why is this happening? WTF is wrong with my brain? I'm so tired and sick of this. I hate feeling like this. I'm so tired. Should I continue the Provigil? I 'm unsure what my next choice would be. malachite
Hmm, when I was on it I had high energy but was a raging bitch, so went off. Call pdoc and see what s/he thinks, perhaps?
Savannah
I take 200mg of Provigil all at once in the morning. If that isn't enough, I drinka few large glasses of dr pepper.
Phoenix_Rising
50 mg is a fairly small dose. When I took it, I took 200 mg. Have you contacted your doctor?
Meezers
Thank You for the replies. I agree 50mg is def. a small dose..was debating if I should just take the 100mg tommorow..? Worried it will blow me through the roof if it does work or will depress me even more than it had already. I know I can't handle that feeling anymore--feeling like was hit by a truck and left there.. I'm feeling better now as it's making it's way out of my system...so idk.. Yes. did contact Dr... (is a family m.d. as clinic psychiatrist has been out 2 months..umm yeah..- so med management has been handled by family medicine docs-- who have slim knowledge of psych meds-) it's a clinic so next opening is in 4 weeks..ha.... said couldn't wait..having difficulty w/ medication..there supposedly going to call back. So basically I and other patients are by ourselves in regards to medication difficulties/decisions and support. I kid you not. melissaw72
If you do decide to increase the dose to 100 mg, I'd be careful that you have enough pills and won't run out before the end of the month.

Meezers
WTF..Provigil is making me sleepy and depressed. Has this happened to anyone else? Read briefly elsewhere that it can happen.. In the long run really starting to question if all these meds are worth this.. Meezers
Savannah
It has just the opposite effect for me, although I am still able to take a nap in the afternoon. I take ke it in the am and then drink a lot of diet soda which helps me get jacked up. I am also productive and happy when I take it. Maybe a different stimulant or a higher dose of Provigil will help. I take 200mg but have a friend who takes 200mg I when he wakes up and another 200mg early afternoon.his pdoc calls it his "mood brightener ". Hope you find something that helps. melissaw72
Provigil keeps me awake but when I start to sleep a lot, for me it means I need an increase in dose.
jt07
Meezers, I merged your other thread on this topic into this thread. I have not experienced sedation or depression from Provigil. I'm not saying that you aren't having an atypical reaction, just that I don't think it is common. Usually, if anything, people find that Provigil doesn't work as well as the proper stimulants.
