Lyrica (Pregabalin) for Anxiety with Bipolar Disorder?

I am on Lithium, and have predominantly Manic episodes. The Lithium is helping the mood swings, but not my Anxiety, so I am going to soon be trying Lyrica for my Anxiety.

Does anybody else have experience with the combination, OE even just Lyrica for anxiety? Any input would be awesome. :-)

i had a very limited trial with Lyrica, as about a month or so in i developed a rash that "might" have been an allergy so i was told to stop.  but while i was taking it, i liked the anti-anxiety effects.  i remember feeling calmer.  i hope it works well for you, too.

Thank you for the response. I am hoping it works well without weird side effects. My older sister takes it in a larger dose for Fibromyalgia, and never got a rash from it, so hopefully I won't have that kind of problem. Good to know it has had positive effects on Anxiety for you at least. :-)

I took it for back pain but gained weight very rapidly. It didn't help with my pain but at high dose of 300mg twice daily I did notice being calmer.

I don't have personal experience with it. My pdoc wants me to consider it once I'm stable on Lexapro both for fibro and my anxiety. My husband took it for a month or so for pain and also gained weight rapidly (about 13kgs I believe) and was so doped out all day he could barely stay awake. I know we're all different though. I hope it helps and would be interested to hear how you go.
