Greetings,

I've been on Lamictal for a couple of years, and over the past 6 months I've had to keep increasing the doseage due to breakthrough depression.

Well, I already have anticipatory anxiety, but it seems like every time I made an increase, my anticipatory anxiety got a lot worse. I mean, at this point I'm freaked out at any semblance of an obligation. I've only left the house twice in the past two weeks.

Anyone else experience such a thing when increasing Lamictal?

Thanks guys :)

You just said you have repeatedly raised your Lamictal to treat breakthrough depression. Anticipatory anxiety can be one symptom of depression. You admittedly already tend to have anticipatory anxiety; maybe your depression is amplifying it.

Changing your Lamictal dose can cause an increase in anxiety until your body gets used to the new dose. This is why the initial titration of Lamictal is often rocky for a lot of people. However, if it is lasting weeks you probably want to consult your pdoc because it could be a symptom, as crtclms said, or it could be treatable with other meds.
