Siggmin
I can't do well enough on a low dose of any antipsychotic. With the exception of Haldol. I did well on a relatively low dose of that. Sorry I can't comment on Invega, I've only been on a version of it, Risperdal. That didn't help at low doses though, so I'm not sure Invega would either. Have you suggested Cogentin or a med like it (I can't remember the names atm, sorry) to your psych? Sometimes they can help with akathisia. Or, with the help or your pharmacist/doctor, you could always try Benadryl. It's over the counter, but I'd still check with someone before taking it. Difficulty concentrating I've never had with a med, but I have a feeling it might go away with the akathisia. jt07
I took a low dose of Invega, but it was not for psychosis. I'm skeptical that a low dose will do much for your psychosis. I suggest that you try to get an appointment with your pdoc and discuss possibly trying a different antipsychotic.

jt07
I didn't find either Invega or Risperdal particularly good for anxiety. Some do. But Invega didn't sedate me either. I can tell you one experience that I had with Invega. At the time I was not taking Invega regularly. I developed a horrible, black anxiety that bordered on paranoia - the kind which comes with a feeling of doom where you are sure something is going to happen bad. I took an Invega PRN (actually, one of my old left over ones - either 1 or 2 mg), and within 30 minutes, I was feeling better. Keep in mind that this is one anecdote from one crazy person on the internet and weigh it accordingly. I did not find Invega helpful for my generalized anxiety. I found low-dose typical APs much better for anxiety. Edited August 16, 2014 by jt07 Horrible grammatical error
CeremonyNewOrder
When I was on invega, I needed a large dose for it to do anything. YMMV.
blueshamu
AverOblivious, I have the same question you do, but for different reasons. I was on Invega 3, and it did wonders for my irritability and stress, but it made my muscles unable to exercise intensely (light exercise was fine) - but since I am a professional athlete, that became a huge problem in terms of my daily employment. I tried the Invega 6 as well, and my muscles got even weaker overnight and I had to take off work and forgo pay. I stopped the Invega and my muscle power returned, but so did some of my stress and irritability. I'm wondering if the 1.5 dosage might work for me, while not affecting my muscles too much.. Let's try and keep this topic going, because it is important!
