eyebeamy
I just bought a pocket pc and was wondering if anyone knew anything about the Mood Traker program you can put on it. Also, I have been buying like crazy, (ie an ipod, a new laptop, a tablet pc, a razor, a pocket pc, a new car, and about 500 dollars work of books from barns and nobles, and not to mention the now hundreds of dollars worth of Christmas gifts), and I was wondering if this had anything to do with my mental issues? Oh, and buy the way, I only make 7.50 a hour at my part-time job.
freesoul
No idea about the program. However I do know something about MI and overspending. I (and many many others who are BP) do the same thing while hypomanic or manic. It's kind of a red flag in my case. You seem to be spending far above your budget, and say you're worried about it. Is this a possibility in your case? what's your dx(s)? I have a rule that when I buy expensive stuff I keep the packaging and receipts to be able to bring it back if I come to my senses and it no longer seems such a good idea. Once I had to bring back a $1000 sectional couch! I also make myself wait a day or two before buying (when I can!) especially if my moods are on the up side. eyebeamy
not sure what my dx's are yet, they seem to change every time I go to my psychiatrist, but at the moment he's "pretty damn sure" that I am bipolar w/rapid cycling, but who knows, that might change in a month. freesoul
Okay. If you are in fact BP, then overspending and impulsive buys can be a sign of an "up" mood. How are you feeling lately? I don't know why but I thought you were on Zoloft?
grousemouse
oh boy, and keep those receipts! the other day i spent over $800 on stuff. but i'm not bipolar (according to the guy with the M.D.). ebay is my freaking nemesis. the first thing i check now is if the seller will accept returns for a full refund. gah. grouse. eyebeamy
I have been feeling great lately, like I could do anything I wanted. I was taking Zoloft and Seroquel, but had to stop because I started having seizures. I went to a neurologist and he said my daydreams were actually absence seizures. I had know idea. He said he is pretty sure they were being caused by the meds. He took me off of them for a while to see if the daydreams/seizures stopped. I haven't had any today, so I quess the meds caused them, I have never had seizure up until now.
