chickenonaraft12
Lately I've been feeling really off- I've actually fallen a few times and stumbled around/lost my footing quite a bit this past week. Anytime I use the stairs I go really slow because I feel like I'm going to topple over on them. Has anyone else had issues like this with xanax? I only started taking it last week so I don't know if it's really the meds or if it's just me being extra clumsy.
LikeMinded
I haven't had the issue with Xanax (namely as I've never taken it), but I did with too-high doses of its sister Klonopin. You might want to speak with your pdoc about dose reduction.
melissaw72
Yes, I had and still have at times these issues but not sure it is because of xanax. I feel like I am going to faint so I go very slow. Also could be the beginning of an anxiety attack for me though, where I feel really out of it and feels like my blood pressure is dropping. What I do to help is to slow down and focus by looking all around me slowly, getting my bearings as to where I am, what I am doing, etc. Sometimes it helps other times I just pray I make it down the stairs without falling. crtclms
If you are taking more than you can handle, you probably would stumble about. I would call your pdoc, there's no point on being on more of it than you have to be. Maybe the pdoc will have a better grasp of what is going on, and will decide it's not the Xanax, so it's always better to check.
chickenonaraft12
I'm taking a really low dosage. 1.5 mg daily. So I doubt it's an overmedication issue...unless the meds just aren't doing it for me at all.
melissaw72
Maybe you can try to lower the current dose (if ok with pdoc) to see if that helps or not. You never know, 1.5 mg could be too much for you. Everyone reacts to meds differently.
LikeMinded
I agree with Melissa. What seems to be a low dose to your doc could seem a downright hazardous overdose to your body. You may be over-sensitive to the medication and may have to adjust the dose accordingly.
