How interesting. I am on Lithium and get terribly chapped lips - I never linked the two.

 

I'd love to know, as it is painful and unsightly, and no kind of lip salve etc seems to help.

You can exfoliate your lips with a soft toothbrush, ideally in the shower, but after you've washed your face and while it's still wet works too. Then use a lip balm with natural ingredients. I don't know why they're more effective, but I have found that they are. Chapstick Naturals are my favorites:

And reapply whatever balm you choose frequently. Like, all the damn time. After you eat. While you work. Basically whenever you think of it. Always before bed.

Repeat as necessary. Probably won't solve the problem, but should help.

That's interesting. I always have mildly chapped lips, but I mean pre-lithium always. I'm one of those people that has trouble in the winter though, my lower lip splits. But this has been the case since I was in high school, so years and years before I took lithium.
