Anyone With Migraine Want to Share?

Recommended Posts

I'm starting this thread because I often want to complain about my headaches, or treatments, or etc., that don't warrant their own thread. I am guessing that is true for some of you true. Come, join us in agony. :)

I've had an uptick in headaches lately. It still isn't as bad as it was from 2010-2013, but I am going to bed early two or three days a week, and often have non-headache migraines that make me feel quite sick. The meds that have seemed to help, Latuda and Tinazidine, are still mostly keeping things under control, it is weakening.

I feel like I still can't even think about coming off SSDI. I was beginning to think I would be able to work part time again, but no.

I hear you on this. I have had migraine HELL this year. It used to be I'd get 5-7 a month, and it skipped some months altogether. This year however, it's been in overdrive. Whether it relates to 'the change' or what I don't know, but I've been having about 15+ a month this year. VERY tired of it....The worst is waking up at 2 am with one...:P Sorry you're suffering them badly too crtclms. :(

I just found out my pdoc won't/cannot write a script for Fiorinal anymore. You think she could have told me earlier. Apparently all pain meds have to be given by mdocs not psychiatrists.

I also take pseudoephedrine for my migraines. And for the first time I bought a generic at the pharmacy. It was SO much cheaper.

The migraines were horrible all of March, beginning of April.

**knocks on keyboard**

Now all has been quite on the migraine front for a week.

I am struggling with migraine right now. I see the neuro in about a week and I am freaking out. Whether I get botox is in doubt because I had to go on pain reliving meds. If I didn't I would have lost my sanity.

So frustrating.

I spent the night before last throwing up and unable to keep down medication. Been looking into alternatives and there is a nasal spray that might work or a suppository that would definitely work. Problem is I can't imagine being capable of dealing with a suppository in that state!

I have had a noticeable increase in migraines/pre-migraines lately and a quick google told me that they can be related to depression. So that makes sense since my depression is up as well. Doctor checked it out when I was a teenager and just wrote it off as hereditary and now people just prescribe the heaviest pain killers possible. Doesn't help for regular use.

Other than the pain and vomming - I hate having to leave places. Like being out to dinner and then feeling it come on. It's that feeling of 'I think I have about 20 mins before I get really sick'. Frustrating.

I hate that feeling, too. Things were great for about a month, and now I am slowly climbing back onto the migraine train. I hate how circumscribed my life becomes.

Augh, another one. Not too surprising, as it's snowing out. Fortunately, Midrin has handled it well enough. Still a shadow headache, but I can deal with that.

So, bear with my bitchiness, please. Migraine started a few hours ago. Mike says to me, "hmmm, wonder if it's going to snow/rain." Keep in mind it was 65 degrees and sunny out at the time. Checked weather forecast, and yup, next three days. I should be a fucking meteorologist. If one more person tells me to make a secret cure all juice for my migraines, I will kill them. I am pretty powerful, but not powerful enough to change the weather. Oh, shit, this was a tangent....

I know! Why doesn't NOAA use migraneurs as part of their weather instrumentation. I can tell when the barometer is fucking around, and I always check to see if I'm right, and I always am.

It's snowing here, so I had a moderate migraine today. I've kept it under control with midrin.

Had a nasty-but-not-debilitating migraine w/aura (because of course) this morning, but it thankfully went away around when I went to group. I drank a ton of electrolyte water before going, so maybe an electrolyte imbalance was setting it off?

I'm just really not a fan of that stabbing pain at the base of my skull that radiates up the left side of my face. Could really do without it. Pls remove thx.

Yeah, the horrible awful, no good, can't stand it, pain (without aura this time, so maybe "just" a headache due to weather) started yesterday afternoon.  I am on soooo many meds, I'm limited in pain relief, so I took some tylenol, had some coffee ('cause caffeine helps mine) and went to bed.  It's still here, along with the snow.  Ow.

AGAIN. I have a headache again! I was doing so well, and it has just collapsed. I will say the headaches aren't absolute agony, and I think that is one of my prophylaxis (Zanaflex) doing its job. But still, could it please stop now?

Got an exercise-induced migraine today (or it just came on randomly, not sure), and it just will not go away.  I even took a propranolol because it was so bad at one point, but it didn't even work.

Exertion migraines are so annoying. You are *supposed* to exercise (or have sex with your husband, which is when I get them). It's like punishment for doing the right thing.

I feel nauseated and barfy- and this is one weird headache.  it started at my temples and is spreading to meet at my nose. it hurts to have my eyes open and it also hurts for them to be closed.

**takes triptans, caffeine, and toradol and goes under the covers**

Have you tried ice packs?  Or if that makes it worse, warm compresses? (Ice packs really help me, but I've read that warm compresses work well for others).
