Agomelatine (Valdoxen) -any experiences

Recommended Posts

I took valdoxan in 2010. It worked well for me and rather quickly too. My mood improved a lot and I had no side effects. I didn't notice much improvement on 25 mg but my  mood improved a lot on the higher dose of 50 mg. Unfortunately it stopped working after a few months.

You have to have regular blood tests as there is a risk of  liver toxicity. I had tests before treatment began and as an extreme precaution had further tests after being on the 50 mg for a while and was told I would continue to have liver function tests every 6 weeks and then further down the line every 12 weeks.

I think the medical professions are emphasizing the importance of liver monitoring even more now

I hope it works well for you!

Thanks for the reply Rowan!

I have done some reading and have read that testing is something that would be apart of this but did not realise how much so thanks for filling me in there.

That is something that doesn't worry me, but I just need an improvement in sleep and mood and maybe this isn't for me now I think about it but will discuss with Pdoc.

Thanks again
