condition
Hello, I have been prescribed 25-50mg Seroquel to help me sleep (I also take 50mg Zoloft in the morning). 25mg of quetiapine was enough for some months but lately wasn't enough so I jump to 50mg, but since started 50mg I experience restless leg (my left), like numbing. This makes very difficult to fall asleep and I augmented it with half ambien. If you can give any help it would be highly appreciated, even if I have to increase the dose, do you think its possible that the restless legs is on 50mg and maybe on a double dose it will diminish? Thanks.
rowan77
At one point I had severe restless legs which my pdoc thought was related to the higher dose of Seroquel 800 mg. He prescribed ativan 1mg PRN which helped for a while. He then added in Kemadrin 5mg which made a big difference. I stayed on the Kemadrin for 18 months and then stopped it and thankfully have had no restless legs since.
condition
thanks for your feedback, I did a thorough forums' search on the subject before seeing your reply, and noticed that some anticholinergic may ease this side effect like benadryl. I have already read about this side effect but I thought I wouldn't experience it as I am at a very low dose. Although I would prefer not to mix many medications, I prefer to take one antidepressant in the morning and a sleeping aid at night and not another med to ease the side effects of the hypnotic. condition
Hello fortunately I overcame this problem, but not with antihistamines, as these are making the problem worse for me.I take 2000mg magnesium daily, since September and that's it. No more rls from quetiapine. I have read about magnesium this spring, during my web research, when I first faced the rls problem but didn't try it immediately. I visited two qualified psychiatrists in the meantime and none suggested magnesium.Well I replied to my old topic to show the method I overcame the problem, maybe someone will find it helpful in the future.
