I've been on fluoxetine properly for nearly two months now and I feel buzzed. They have this effect. Over time I sleep less and it's like I'm on caffeine and I tense my muscles a lot. Sit there and realise I'm doing it and have to actively relax only to find I'm doing it again a short time later.

I should be in bed.

I've been on fluoxetine for two months properly now, too. I sometimes have a bit of muscle spasms too but for me it''s not too bad, just my right upper arm.

I feel more energetic too! It's pretty cool but I have to watch myself too, I need to calm down and have relaxing time.

Apart from the side effects, what effect does fluoxetine have on you? Does it help you?

For me, it makes my emotions much better manageble. I feel all my emotions but it's not out of proportion anymore, which gives me time and ''headspace'' to act rationally on them. Still human, but more ''normal''.

Well, I'm not suicidal. So that's the main thing. But my mood is often somewhat flat. It varies. I get the tensing in my legs and hip muscles mostly, makes me really stiff sometimes if I haven't realised what I'm doing.

I'm on the lowest 'effective dose' so lowering it messes with me a bit, which is why I'm taking it full time now. I get a lot of side effects from everything and this one works ok without too much else going on. I just hate it when I can't sleep and it's a really agitated feeling when I'm buzzed, not particularly happy just thoughts everywhere.

I tried yoga today. It helps a lot.

I am on fluoxetine 40mg and my pdoc lowers that to 20mg if/whenever I show signs of impending mania like insomnia, racing thoughts etc.

Once I'm stable again he usually puts it back up to 40mg. Sometimes I just ring my pdoc and say that my thoughts are going faster and I'm not sleeping and he tells me to lower dose and see how I go

I'm glad you are not suicidal, and that the yoga helped out.

I would consider asking your pdoc to lower the prozac dose because of the agitation and feeling "buzzed."

I'm only on 20mg and I was doing a dose lowering thing last year. It messed with my head and I'd end up having lots of bed days when I wasn't on it.

I missed my dose today as I didn't realise I didn't have a spare box this morn and couldn't get a new one til late so now I have a headache. I'm super sensitive to meds. Makes it difficult. Do any of you notice side effects when you drop your dose?
