Other then somewhat depressed mood, main symptoms have been bone crushing fatigue and mussy thinking, plus a few physical one. No physiological cause found. I started on Wellbutrin 150 six days ago and I swear even the first day on it the improvement was immediate with zero side-effects other than dry mouth. I was on 150 for six days. Not every day was excellent but overall, most definitely improved mood, less fatigue. I popped another 150 last night in order to increase to 300 daily as per doc's orders. Wham! Hit with unbelievable sweats, unsteadiness and brain floating on angry ocean waves ;-) The sweating was unbearable (I am a musician and was playing a show while buckets of sweat were pouring off my face) So here's the q: since I was doing well on just 150, could I simply stay on it indefinitely and perhaps increase only when I feel it pooping out? It's a sub-therapeutic dose theoretically, so not sure how and why it's helping but was until I doubled the dose. Any input appreciated

Hi ... welcome to CB!

I think you should ask your psychiatrist (pdoc) about the dosing, and make him/her aware of the side effects you had when you increased the dose.

Everyone is different, so a therapeutic dose for you might not be the same therapeutic dose for someone else.

FWIW, I've never encountered any of the side effects when I was going on Wellbutrin (I am on 300 mg IR now), except for the ones like increased energy.  I had no negative side effects like you mention.

Definitely let your pdoc know asap. I love wellbutrin, your right, it starts imediately! Instant Release does any way, that's what I prefer. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant of the aminoketone class, totally different then SSRI antidepressants out there!  It's akin to a mild stimulant.

I was prescribed 150mg 3 x day, that was too much for me, I felt like you described. So I only take 1 to 2 tabs a day. Been taking it for 2 years and love it! Even though it increases my anxiety I have anxiety meds so no worries, the benefits are great. Virtually no side effects for me, unless I take too much.

See what your pdoc says about this.

A word of caution if your a drinker. You get drunk faster but are not aware of it until you move!

A benefit for me is it cuts down my cravings for cigarettes and I don't eat as much.
