Introductions make me nervous D:

Recommended Posts

Hi I'm Gemma. I'm 22 and I've been out of work for a year and 4 months due to my depression, anxiety and anorexia. I'm working towards going back there because honestly being at home with my thoughts is doing me no favours. I'm slowly trying to conquer my agoraphobia to make this possible, but it's proving difficult. A member from another forum I am part of recommended I reach out here after I had a rough night with my self harm so I spur of the moment decided to join. I hope I can find support here, I'm grabbing at everything I can get at the moment. Please be nice to me

Hi, Gemma, and welcome to CB! I think you'll find plenty of support here. We have a lot of people with anxiety and depression, many of whom self harm. You are certainly not alone here. They should be able to offer you a lot of support and advice.

If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me or any staff member. We are glad you joined!

Hi Gemma. I'm glad you posted. You and I have a lot incommon. I also have agoraphobia, depression, anxiety, etc...  When I had to quit work and go on disabiliby I thought I would be OK. But the lonliness and having nothing to focus on except your own thoughts can drive you crazy.  That's the one thing my therapist stresses over and over...Stay Out Of Your Head!!!  lol  I am trying and it hels to have a supportive group to go to.

Please write me anytime you feel like it. Bye :) donna

Hi! A warm welcome to CB. I find this site very supportive and full of info. I had to go on disability at a young age (I live in Canada, we can work on Disability, but its near impossible to find a job) and I've been unemployed for a few years. It sucks!

Sitting around listening to your head is no fun!

I hope you can find a safe place here.

Hi, Gemma!

I've been here a short time and my first post was terribly scary - but i can assure you, people here will be very nice to you. I hope you find this to be a safe place. I have. San's right - sitting around listening to your own head is definitely no fun! This is better.  Welcome. :)
