confused
I had some side effects when I took 100mg topomax where I was talking to myself a lot, everything was going fast. It was very uncomfortable and hard to concentrate. My pdoc reduced the topomax to 50mg and upped my seroquel and the symptoms went away.I had been cutting the 100mg tablets in half, but now I have 50mg tablets. I have been feeling pretty good lately. My mood is better than it had been. But, now those repetitive thoughts are creeping in.I described it to my tdoc and she said people do that when they are over stimulated or under stress. I am pretty sure it is the topomax again. I will call my pdoc, but I am not sure what I want. If I go off the topomax, I will probably go back to feeling "blah", I imagine. If I don't, I have to deal with the thoughts.
iaawal
Is there another med you can be on besides the topomax?
confused
I am just on so many that are supposed to lift my mood: lamictal, lexapro, Wellbutrin, abilify. I don't know what he will decide to do. I just want to have an idea of which is worse.
melissaw72
Could you ask your pdoc to increase back to 100 mg? I know you had side effects at that level, but maybe it wouldn't happen if you raised it a second time.

Sloane
Confused - Are you on medications to treat low blood pressure by any chance? Or any other similar type medications when when taking the Topamax?
confused
No, I take synthroid and trilipix-for triglycerides and metformin (my glucose, thyroid and lipids have been normal) I talked to my pdoc and he upped my abilify a little 7.5 mg to 10mg. I see him on the 28th. I have been feeling better today and I haven't taken the abilify yet. I feel like a pharmacy
melissaw72
I feel like a pharmacy I totally hear you on this! (except the pharmacy is inside of me instead of in a store).
