Wonderful.Cheese
OP, I like lamictal. It has no side effects for me. You have to give it a lengthy time to work though. Give it a shot if your pdoc thinks it's a good idea. Prozac makes me manic. Can't handle AD's. But I think it helps a lot of people out. Couldn't hurt to ask about it. Haldol I can't really speak to. I've only taken it a handful of times. Ding be surprised if pdoc only makes one med change at a time. Some like to stick to that. Good luck! jt07
Smprz84, You mentioned in your other thread that Haldol is making you apathetic. Have you considered that it might be the Prozac making you apathetic? SSRIs can have apathy as a side effect. I know that my citalopram (Celexa) makes me even apathetic about being apathetic. And sometimes apathy comes from the SZ disorder itself too. Good point. Might not even be the haldol.

rowan77
I take Prozac and Lamictal and this combination really helped my depression.
IcePrincess88
For me, Lamictal made me extremely manic and angry. I ended up tearing my room apart. I don't even remember why, but I stopped taking it after that. Never taken the other two.

three
I currently take Haldol and it has helped me so much with my positive symptoms. The other two medications I have not tried, sorry.
San
We don't delete posts here. You've done nothing wrong, though. I think it sounds like a good combo, would take some getting used to. Lamictal takes forever to titrate up, and sucks until you hit the therapeutic dose, and can cause less cognitive function, but this generally goes away. Haldol is an excellent AD, and it helped me with all symptoms. As for prozac, it made me manic, but I'm prone to mania with SSRI's. The combo sounds like it's treating all symptoms. What is your dx? Smprz84
Well I never get a clear answer but I hear voices and have thought broadcasting SO I think I'm schizophrenic because it happens when I'm not on anything and worse with stimulants. We decided to just add Effexor to the haldol because Effexor alone is activating for me and hoping that with the flattening of Haldol, I even out. You mean, in addition to the Prozac or instead of? Based on my experience, Effexor is better than Prozac so I hope it works out for you.
Smprz84
Effexor instead of Prozac and no lamictal.
