My glucose came down from 84 to 72 but my A1C was just at the borderline high. Doc doesn't seem worried about any of that. This is just from taking Seroquel (I don't suppose Klonopin messes with my sugar).

I am a sugar addict so I really really don't want this pill to put me at a higher diabetic risk.

Anyone else have to get their blood checked with your meds?

I have had my blood checked at least once a year on Abilify and it has not had any adverse affect on my glucose or lipid panel- and this is coming from someone who is in the morbidly obese category.  I do however have a lot of general inflammation and it;s kind of a mystery as to why.  It could possibly be my weight and lifestyle.

They check my blood sugar. I have high blood sugar, don't know whether my meds are causing it or not, but I take Metforin for it. I had gestational diabetes when I was pregnant, I'm overweight, but there is absolutely no history of diabetes in my family. I'm not willing to stop the meds to figure out if its the meds or not. The metforin controls it and I'm fine now. 84 is NOT a high level. Between 70 and 100 is in the normal range. When I took a glucose tolerance test, my highest reading was 275. At 300 they have to give you insulin. My a1c was 5.8 (which is higher than normal) and my average blood sugar reading was 115. So, my average wasn't terribly high, just above normal, but enough for me that I was having problems with it. But, I drink sugar laden coffee all day. I eat cake, I eat cookies, I eat ice cream, I drink Coke. I didn't alter my diet at all, the metforin though has regulated my blood sugar and my average reading now is 80.
