Paradigm
Hey, I'm Val. I have a lot of things to say.21, final year of a social science honours program, dx Bipolar 2 (or "bipolar spectrum" as I'be been told they're now saying), PTSD, and they're looking into ASPD and probably EDNOS (used to have and seems to be returning). Recovered from social anxiety. What a mouthful. Came from a wonderful background of a meth addicted single mother and multiple foster homes which I'm sure haven't negatively affected me in any way. Ha ha.Pretty happy to have a good go-to group of a helpful therapist, a realistic doctor and a knowledgeable psychiatrist with the bills helpfully footed by my own tax dollars. Thanks Canada, that saves me a ton of stress.I like birds. I've been cosplaying for going on eight years and I'm pretty good at rhythm games. Personality theory is fun and I read books by long dead old white men. I also like to people watch. This makes up a good 3/4 of my degree.I'm probably here because of the Wellbutrin. Seems like a nice place and I hope I stay.
xmo
Hi Val!What kind of social science are you studying? I always liked the social sciences. I would have probably went towards them in school had I not been kicked out / dropped out (after repeated attempts to get back in good academic standing). Welcome to CB! Welcome to CB!I'm studying political science with a minor in sociology. I nearly dropped out last year (which is what first sent me to a psychiatrist) so I get you. I've had to reduce my courseload because of it which means I have to put off my degree for a year. Which areas did you like?
xmo
I have always liked the world culture aspects of things: cultural anthropology/archaeology, world religions/mythology. Think old school NatGeo (before the lame-ass reality shows) lost tribes, ancient history/culture. Stuff like that. I especially like the weirder aspects of the social sciences like the study of cults.
