Prozac is making me tired.

Recommended Posts

Is this normal?

I've been on it about a week now, and they've started me at 20mg. I was also put on Latuda and Xanax, but since I was getting so tired I tried taking them at different times of days and it's right after I take the prozac. Is this normal? Does it go away? Or are me and prozac just incompatible?

I take 40mg of generic Prozac, and haven't noticed any tiredness, but I do know it's listed as a side effect. My pnurse warned me that it might either activate me or tire me out.

In my experience, all the side effects that have cropped up with my fluoxetine have subsided. If you can stand it, my personal suggestion is that you give the dose a couple weeks to stabilize.

Thank you for the input. It's only been a few days, and I know they take quite a while to take effect. My next appointment with the pdoc is in a month so I'm sure that's enough time to figure out whether or not it's permanant.

I am on 40mg of Prozac and it doesn't make me tired at all. I take it in the morning because if I take it at night time it disrupts my sleep.

Hope it goes well for you. It has really helped my depression. In time the tiredness should wear off and hopefully you will feel the benefits of it!!
