IcePrincess88
We just seen my son's new pdoc, he's diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and Anxiety. His old pdoc moved out of state, but she was GREAT! So anyway, this new pdoc sits there and tells us that she doesn't think he has OCD or Anxiety. Then she proceeds to take him off every single medicine he has been on for a year: Concerta, Ritalin, and Zoloft. To replace on those 3 medications(which is crazy to me), she prescribed him something I've never heard of. It's called Clonidine ER. If anyone has taken it, or know someone that has taken it, I'd really like to know how it is. Please.
snarkygirl
I've been on it but for controlling agitation from a med change gone wrong. It's not actually a stimulant so this might not be the best spot to get responses. I wish I could be more help. I didn't have much of an issue with it other than being a little sedating. It did calm my anxiety and agitation down. I'm no longer on it as thankfully I'm off the med that was causing the agitation. Good luck. I hope it works for your son. mjs190
Pretty late in my response to this, but I take Guanfacine ER also called Intuniv which is the same class and mechanism of action as Clonidine ER and I love it. It helps my OCD and ADHD.
Wooster
Clonidine is a blood pressure medication that has many other uses, some of which include anxiety and hyperactivity (putting the H in HOLY HELL THAT'S ADHD).Moving to another forum.
