I started Abilify a few days ago and I'm experiencing the occasional "pins and needles" sensation in my hands. Has this happened to anyone out there? Insomnia is also a major concern but I'm determined to try to stick it out and get used to it (hopefullly).

I don't get pins and needles but I have a lot of other side effects; stomach aches, irritability, irregular periods, rapid weight gain (+10lbs in one month). I'm considering a med change soon

No, I have never had problems with the pins and needles feeling on Abilify.

However on topamax I did, and had to stop the med because of it.

Thanks. The feeling isn't too intense and doesn't happen too often, so I'm not concerned yet. But curious.

My doctor basically asked me if I'd want to try Abilify or Latuda. I know we're all different and have different needs, but just saying. Sorry to hear you're experiencing so many unpleasant side effects! I'm monitoring my weight very closely! I just lost 50 lbs, so I'm not wanting to regain after all of that work! Thanks for the response.

I have almost no side effects from Abilify. I've never had a pins and needles sensation, but if I did, I would think it most likely would have been from the anxiety that Abiliffy induced in me in the beginning. But now I no longer have anxiety from Abilify.

I'm not experiencing as much else. Well, I had a bit of insomnia for a few nights, but I'm not sure that it was related to Abilify. I did feel a little restless, too, but that's no longer an issue. Fingers crossed! :)
