Bueler
Well, the new semester is starting, and that means stressing about classes, and meeting new people, and not having any money.I'm taking Celexa 40mg, and still kind of freaked out. Does anyone ever go any higher on the Celexa, and if so is it possible it could affect my motivation to do a good job in school? I sort of feel like 40mg is already a pretty high dose.Thoughts anyone?
jt07
For several years I was taking 60 mg of Celexa, then the FDA issued a warning to not go over 40 mg due to possible heart rhythm issues. So the answer is that most doctors won't go against the FDA and put their butt on the line and prescribe more than 40 mg. Also, Celexa really saps my motivation. At 60 mg, I was apathetic about being apathetic. So if 40 mg isn't enough to help you combat the stresses of school, I think your best bet is to talk to your pdoc about adding something else. vanderk
Nothing to quote here...something wonky with the Boards. The docs I work with are ok with prescribing above 40mg. One asks for an EKG to guard against any pre-existing arrythmia. If it works for you....
