Hi. I was only on lamictal for about a month, 25 mg to 50 mg and had an allergic reaction so I had to stop taking it.

today is the second day off, and I feel terribly sick. My head is pounding and I can't stop throwing up. Is this withdrawl? I've read about others but it seems like it shouldn't have been long enough to have such a severe reaction.

I accidentally missed 50mg of my 100mg dose yesterday, and would definitely say I'm feeling some effects today (headache, blurred vision). So it makes some sense you'd have some side effects going to zero.

However, the throwing up concerns me and I think you should call your p-doc or go to an urgent care facility. Of course, maybe you also ate something or picked up a bug.

Good luck.

I had a similar experience a couple of years ago while on it. Blurred vision and headache

When I stopped lamictal for 3 days (this was when I was taking the pill form; now I have the dissolvable ones), I called my pdoc and told him, he said to take something how ever I could ( ie crush it up) until the other ones (dissolvable ones) came in, because he didn't want me to have a seizure, or have to re-titrate from the start again.

I have had a similar experience. I stopped taking lamictal for maybe 5 days? (I think I had the flu really bad and couldn't keep anything down) Anyway, I had to re-titrate from the first 25 mg dose up to 300 mg again. And there is risk of a seizure too if you stop it cold turkey without dr's approval. But some instances (like if you are deathly allergic to it) do warrant a cold turkey stop. So, best to talk to a pdoc about all of this for sure.

I haven't heard of the vomiting before. That could either mean your nausea is coming from withdrawal, or from a totally different source. I would call your pdoc. It may be correlation, and not causation, but I'd want an MD's opinion on that.

You might also ask your pharmacist.
