J04KlM
On my fifth week on wellbutrin 150 mg, i had really intense emotions. I had a breakdown and cried the whole week, just thinking about my dog got me super emotional because i had thoughts of not being there for it in the future if i commited suicide. Afterwards my psychiatrist upped my dosage of wellbutrin to 300 mg and quetiapine to 200 mg. Ever since then i feel like i've lost my feelings and attachment for everyone i love. My family and the pets. Completely detached...now i'm at the seventh week of Wellbutrin overall. Could this be because of the medication or am i going through a emotional flatline? Because this is torture.....
jt07
I would doubt that it is the Wellbutrin. I don't have experience with Seroquel, but I know that at 200 mg it affects serotonin which can cause some emotional detachment because serotonergic meds do that to me. Or it could just be a rough patch you are going through. Meds are best gauged over weeks and not just how you are doing during one week. But as I said, I doubt it is the Wellbutrin because it is not known for emotional flattening.

xXSombraXx
i know all too well how it feels to have a sudden emotional cut off, and then it all comes back again out of nowhere. It might be a small side effect of the meds or it might just be your brains way of self preserving after a period of high emotion. Loving the pichu profile pic btw big pokemon fan myself =)
melissaw72
Have you called/talked to your pdoc (psychiatrist)?

I just started Abilify as a replacement for Seroquel so i hope that will help. And yeah, Pokemon is awesome. :]Have you called/talked to your pdoc (psychiatrist)?I have, we decided to replace Seroquel with Abilify. So i hope that will help. xXSombraXx
There's never a set time for how long it lasts, sometimes it'll be a few days and sometimes weeks. I've just started to return to emotions after about 2 weeks of numbness and now I'm slipping into a depression, but before ive gone from being numb to being hyper. You probably need to give the meds some time to balance out and you'll probably feel more in tune again if that makes sense. Yeah pokemon is a major part of my life I'm a huge collector and play the video games aha
Revan
I liked abilify over seroquel. seroquel flattened my emotions and just wiped away my motivation. Abilify did the opposite of emotional numbing, but not anxious thoughts like some of the stimulating meds can do. Not sure why I went off it as it was working very well. I can't take wellbutrin without something like a benzo and/or mood stabilizer with it or I would be jitttery. Who knows, perhaps if I can get the wellbutrin high enough I can add a tiny dose of quell , like 25mg so I can sleep without numbing.

You said wellbutrin makes you jittery, and you said you require a benzo with it. That benzo might not be needed if you were on a lower dose of Wellbutrin or not taking it. And then the sleep issues might resolve themselves. I'm not a DR but I would ask about it.
