Snapped a screenie of something that has just started happening in the past couple of days, what is this? Something VE added? Anyone got a clue? Happens to me in FF and Chrome...

I got that too, Windows 10, Chrome, before entering chat.

Can't access chat, I've got the window open and it appears to be loading, but won't completely load. Can access the site just fine.

Still having chat issues. Was the chat buffer removed? That little bit of text that happened to be stored above when we log into chat? It hasn't been there the couple times I've been able to get it to seem like it's loaded.

Alas chantho, I figured it was better that it got posted sooner, rather than later. So others wouldn't be freaked out by that suddenly appearing like that. Some people might mistakenly think they themselves have been hacked/system compromised. Hence my purpose in posting. To lessen such a concern. At any rate, I appreciate VE taking the measure to protect the community from a denial of service or whatnot attack. I hate it when things don't work and I can't get in chat. I used to post on the boards more, but for me now, I use the chat most of the time. :) My adobe flash plug in crashed this time trying to load and get in.

Chat hasn't loaded for me since this morning....unless I did manage to get in and just there was NO chatting....Not sure. Oh well. Got some pre-sewing done so it worked out. :D FYI-it will load in IE....Ugh, IE....

chat won't load in chrome. win 10, using adblock (I know, shame on me, but this site has too many ads otherwise). what happened?

I'm really upset that there was no announcement sent out to us as users/mods that whatever this D-DOS protection thing is would potentially screw up chat. not cool.

To Whom It May Concern:

Crazyboards has not worked all day and still doesn't work if I use Chrome or Canary.
(For some reason DownForEveryoneOrJustMe also says the site is down.)

I opened this generic browser called Stainless, which will crash in a minute because it is not very stable on my Imac.

I guess it is not just me.  **wipes sweat from brow.**

I was able to post to a topic using Stainless btw. Yay!!

I could only test the three I have, IE is the only one to work right now for me if I want to chat, weird thing? It won't let me like send a board PM, and it acts real sluggish when I am typing in IE in chat...and it's almost like my keyboard isn't working properly. Have to come into Fire Fox or Chrome to post here or send a board PM. But IE is working for chat, just not very well. Spending more time backspacing because my keyboard seems to be NOT registering letters or something when I am in chat. It's fine right now in this text input to post on this thread, so it's definitely something else...

In regards to the original post - it looks like the server now has protection against DDOS attacks ( a good thing).

Opera denies me access to the login screen. The 'Transaction is insecure'.

Firefox endlessly loads the chat-room.

If the DDOS protection is new, it seems likely that it's configuration is wonky and it is rejecting users from site functionality! I'm having chat withdrawls halp!

It's only set like this because we've been under active attack for 24 hours.  Once full mitigation measures are it place, settings are going to be relaxed.

Thanks VE.  I was beginning to worry because I didn't know why it had to check my browser.  Makes sense now though.

Idk if anyone else notices this, but Firefox crashes a lot more often when on CB trying to post.  Hopefully this will go away when everything is back to the usual.

Sorry to hear this, thanks for managing all of the web-site things for us. We had this happen at another forum a few years ago. Someone became disgruntled and tried to take down a forum. It's a good thing that DDOS protection is becoming more and more common-place! I guess in our case we could be pretty easy target for the hacker types who pray on people based on their ideologies or who we are as people or whatever. Anyways again thank you, if you need any assistance let me know.

VE- Thank you! I hope our borders are still firm, none of the realm were kidnapped, our ramparts still stand, and our flags are hanging high!!

If it's not working for you now, it's because you have a insecure browser, most likely.

If your browser hasn't been updated in at least the past 3 months, you need to upgrade it.  Firefox and Chrome update themselves automatically by default and IE updates are tied in with automatic system updates.
