Duelist
Wow, you'd think you would be SAFE in a freakin' hospital, yeah....not in Texas at any rate. Unreal that this happened, this poor young man was brutally shot in his room in a hospital and charged with assault?? What did he do-spit on the armed OFF duty police man?http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Family-of-man-shot-in-Houston-hospital-struggles-6481756.php#photo-8572936

Sloane
He was in the hospital seeking MI help, and things went WAY out of control. To clarify this story...It was the staff members who contacted on-duty Security (who were also off-duty Police Officers). They (Security/Police officers) claim that "he (Alan Pean) struggled and tried to injure them". They then tried tasering him "with no effect", and one of the Security/Police officers decided to shoot him in the abdomen.Alan Pean survived thank goodness; he is in the ICU but is stable. His family hired an attorney to get "to the truth". However it's the same attorney who defended George Zimmerman so not sure how much truth will actually come out.Another article on this storyAnd a video story of the coverage
melissaw72
Thanks, Sloane for another links to the article. I'm glad he survived. And I hope those security/police officers get what they deserve. Edited September 11, 2015 by melissaw72
Duelist
Thank you Sloane for the other links, I really hope the young man involved gets better. And I agree with melissaw72, I hope those 2 officers get some kind of punitive action against them. *sigh*
crtclms
Sloane, good defense attorneys tend to be good even when they represent scum. Since they are charging him with assault, he wants the best defense atty he can get.
The Right Honourable Jimmy
Thank goodness that in UK you would only get shot if you point a gun or try to stab an armed police officer. Plus they never show up with guns in crime scenes unless you have a gun or a machete.
