JustGotOut
I'm a little afraid I might have to go on clozaril long term because a few years back I tried risperdal for the second time and it just didnt work at all. That said I'm thinking about trying it again and if it doesn't work i'll just ask my doc to go on clozaril long term and just accept sleeping 16 hours a day. Dusk
I quit taking my risperdal in February, and relapsed in June. When I started taking it again, it did absolutely nothing for me.
Chantho
Oh golly. I hope that's not the case for Zyprexa. It was a miracle worker in the past.
jt07
Oh golly. I hope that's not the case for Zyprexa. It was a miracle worker in the past. It seems to be a problem specific to Risperdal, or at least that's the only one that I've read about with this problem. Fluffypinkbunny
I had the same thing years ago with Risperdal. Second time it did nothing. Edited September 11, 2015 by Fluffypinkbunny
iaawal
Yup. I noticed that double the old dosage of zyprexa didn't even make me sleepy and took a few days to calm the psychosis down.
crtclms
Shit. I'm on Risperdal for like the 3rd time, but a smaller dose. I can't tell what is happening. I guess the next few weeks will tell.
The Right Honourable Jimmy
Regardless my low mood, I'm fighting hard to get back on an effective dose of quetiapine (I'm takin 25mg from 800mg). I have been doing since my doctor took me off my meds cold turkey back in february. The withdrawal effects are still effecting me. There is something that I can only describe as over-conciousness. I'm itchy and uncomfortable all day and I can't sit still all that in addition to my mood, I'll even buy quetiapine from a drug dealer if it may be. jt07
That's really crappy, St. Jimmy, that you can't get the treatment you need. I find that just shocking though not altogether surprising given other people's experiences.
uncomfortable thoughts
Risperidone worked on my first psychosis about 8 years ago and I gave it a try this year for delusional thoughts/thinking, got to say, it wasn't exactly an acute episode and it was very spaced out time from the first to the second time, but it worked well and fast, It didn't sedate me as much as the most of APs and I could take it in a high effective dosage, 6mg/day and up.
