Furiously Happy

Recommended Posts

Totally enjoying Jenny Lawson's kick-arse second book, "Furiously Happy". It details her MI and her coping strategies, amidst some very funny stuff. Anybody else a fan of The Bloggess?

I enjoyed her first book, "Let's Pretend This Never Happened" - although it did freak me out at times.

She's honest about her MI, and has a wicked sense of humour, and a bunch of cats!

Recommend.

I also love how helpful her understanding of her own MI is - because it means we can relate to her. She also references The Spoon Theory, which I love and always reminds me of Wooster.

It's like a memoir.. kinda.. more like a collection of disjointed thoughts :) Her first book, Let's Pretend This Never Happened, is more memoir-y. Both are hilarious, and disturbing all at once. I'm impressed by her bravery to be honest.

Sounds like something to check out.  Is she Australian?

I am part of her tribe, wear a silver ribbon, and am trying to live my life furiously happy (When it will let me)! I'm (unsuccessfully) on Lexapro, Klonopin, Dextroamph, and When I recently told my Christian counselor "All is right with my soul," she replied, "I don't think So." Th-Th-Thank you for your support!!

Thanks for listening.  b.

I truly enjoyed Furiously Happy.  Anything that has me laughing out loud during a bad depression is worthy of praise.

I'd put it in the genre of "humor" more than "memoir."  Wickedly silly and ridiculous, for sure.

I imagine people will know within the first couple pages whether it's their cup of tea.
