J04KlM
I am currently struggling really hard with loss of interest and pleasure in things, demotivation and low energy (i feel fatigued) I am currently titrating Lamictal, i'm now at 50 mg. While it has reduced the intensity of my depression so far, i am still plagued by loss of interest and pleasure in activities. Completely demotivated, no desire to do anything. And low energy overall. I started Wellbutrin for this very reason months ago. I've been on Wellbutrin for almost 4 months, and only in the third week did i feel better. But I quickly relapsed the week after and those symptoms came back in full force. My psychiatrist doesn't think it pooped out on me, but it's making me rapid cycle. So Lamictal was added to even things out. I have also been on Abilify for a month, it has not helped anything with those symptoms. Will i feel the effects of Wellbutrin and Abilify once i've reached the therapeutic dose of Lamictal, or is this a sign they aren't working and i should change meds? jarn
It's hard to say when you've been added on two meds (Lamictal and Abilify) in a short time period what is doing what. That said, Lamictal could help with the anhedonia.

iaawal
I've been on Wellbutrin for almost a year and it has unfortunately pooped out on me. It helped a lot with the zombie/lack of interest feeling and concentration issues with me (reason I got on it). I'm on 200mg of the lamictal and unfortunately can't say it's helped much. But it's my third time on this and I've never had too much luck with it. Pdoc just requires it before I get back on prozac though. So I do hope you have better luck with it that I've had. It can be a pretty good med for some. And on whether or not it'll work this is one of those that you have to give it time, extra time since the titration is a bit lengthy. On another note, good luck with the titration, it can be rough but it'll even out. And I'm all over the place. Sorry.

crtclms
Lamictal has some strong anti-depressant effects, which might be what your pdoc is after.50mg is really not considered a therapeutic does. Your mood will probably bounce around, you'd be amazed. You may have intense dreams, and aches and pains (especially lower back and legs). Usually, things start getting better at 100mg, but 150mg is considered the lowest therapeutic dose.. There are always outliers who do well at 75 or 100mg, but usually you have to go higher. I'm at 400mg right now.
