I've been on Abilify for 8 weeks now, and I've gone as far up to 15 mg. I've now tried Wellbutrin and Abilify to try and treat my anhedonia but neither has worked.

As far as my research goes, there aren't other medication that treat anhedonia like Wellbutrin and Abilify does. It looks like i might have to resort trying out drugs for Parkisons syndrome like Mirapex. Either that or i'm just treatment resistant. :(

I don't know if i should wait till i get to a therapeutic dose of Lamictal, if that'll make it easier for Wellbutrin and Abilify to do their job once my mood is stabilized. I'm really devestated right now :(

Did you doctor specifically tell you you those were the only drugs? Not invalidating your conclusion, just warning that if you read about it online  somewhere you won't ever be sure. You would prevent yourself a lot of worry by getting your medication answers directly from the doctor who is treating you.

In regards to treatment resistant, I have taken 20+ medications (probably hovering around mid 20's now) for my issues over the past 12 years. It took a long time for me to be considered "treatment resistant" and I didn't even know I was until I was told. Again, unless the words "treatment resistant" comes directly from your tdoc/pdoc, don't make yourself unnecessarily worried about it.

If you have already asked about all this, though, ignore this.

My psychiatrist tells me my anhedonia will lift when i get to a therapeutic dose of Lamictal, and i don't know if that'll be the case. I've seen many having their mood stabilized but still have severe anhedonia, and i don't know of any other specific meds that target this symptom besides Abilify, Wellbutrin and some dopamine agonists.

This is true for any med, we don't know if they will work. It's not good to assume worst case scenario until said worse case scenario actually happens.

Your pdoc would know.

Abilify put a dent in my depression at 15mg, but left me with anhedonia. Doxepin quashed my anhedonia. My pdoc seems to think that the older tricyclics work better for difficult cases of depression/anhedonia. The Abilify/doxepin combo is the only thing that ever worked for me. YMMV.  Good luck!
