Latuda 60mg still causes stiff muscles in the thighs

Recommended Posts

Hey folks,

It's been over 6 months and the side effect of stiff muscles in the thighs didn't go away.

What can I take to counter the side effect or should I switch Latuda to another AAP?

It's not a major problem but it is bothersome.

Thanks!

Looks like you're already on Cogentin, which would be one possible solution to the problem. Other medications that are useful for EPS include baclofen, Artane (trihexyphenidyl), benzodiazepines, Mirapex (pramipexole), Requip (ropinirole), and Zanaflex (tizanidine).

If you were to switch, antipsychotics that are less likely to cause EPS symptoms like the ones you describe include Seroquel XR, Zyprexa, Sapris, Rexulti, and lower doses of Risperdal. Abilify, Geodon, Latuda, and the new one Vraylar are all more likely to cause EPS, in theory, because of how potently they hit dopamine receptors over serotonin and other receptors.
