madmax15
I got approached by a stranger yesterday and then again by a different stranger today. I was sitting outside waiting for someone and he walks up to me and has a go at me making slurs that I'm a rich italian because I don't drive a "cheap car". Today a guy in the shopping centre starts asking me where.a certain telephone shop is. I started pointing where it is. He replies "don't point too hard give me directions" These were people I've never seen before and YOU say "not everyone is out to get you" And I say no, just some. Here is the proof... melissaw72
How are these people out to get you? Did they do something physically to you or something that would make you think that you'd get hurt in any way? The people were all talk. Words is all. I'm sorry you felt these people were out to get you, as you say, but I truly believe they weren't. They seem like they were just trying to piss you off, IMO. Southern Discomfort
I think that's just rudeness, not people out to get you; that would be a work collogue looking for you to make a mistake to report to your boss or something.
madmax15
It freaked me out. Wouldn't you feel like that if a stranger approached you and was rude to you for no particular reason?

It's just a couple of rude assholes.
madmax15
So, what would an example of someone "out to get me" do?

For me it would take multiple encounters that escalate. Someone being a rude jerk on one occasion is not being out to get you.
Wooster
This kind of weirdness happens to me often in the city. I suspect it's partly because I have a service dog and generally make eye contact with people and I ride the bus. I don't ever think it's about me. I presume the other person is having a bad day, high on some kind of drug, or struggling with their own mental illness.
melissaw72
I'm with jt ... I would think that if someone was out to get me, (it) would have to happen many times and escalate until out of control. Enough to piss me off and do something about it (usually ...otherwise I'd find ways to avoid the situation).
