For me, it has to just pass.  There isn't anything (that I've found yet) that gets me out of that mood.

What helps to an extent is making sure you get enough sleep.  Sometimes when you sleep and then wake up, your mind can change (at least mine does at times).  I'll go from being severely depressed and like you said, seeing the world as cynical, to it getting a little better a few days after I sleep enough.

Well, cynicism is usually related to interactions among humans. When I get that way, I try to get out and enjoy nature because nature is what it is ... it doesn't put on airs and it doesn't have ulterior motives. The world is much larger than humanity, and it can be very beautiful. It helps me to remember that.

When I feel cynical, I don't go much of anywhere because I always have the urge to voice my (cynical) thoughts.  The only way to prevent me from saying anything I will regret afterwards is to just stay alone.  The urge is too much to deal with otherwise.
