Patterns of Anxiety

Recommended Posts

For those who suffer from anxiety and bipolar - do you feel you have patterns of anxiety with your high and low moods also?

Is there such thing as anxiety itself being the 'mood' which is high or low in bipolar?

My life and illness is ruled by anxiety or lack of it, depending on my mood, and I was interested in what others might have experienced...

Not sure if this helps... but when i am high and manic.. my anxiety tends to be worse as in i am edgy and agitated...when i'm low and depressed the anxiety is chillin on the lazy boy recliner... the depression overpowers the anxiety... they suck.

^^This for me too.  I had to think about it at first, but when it comes down to it, what KnickNak said I agree with.

Mania/hypomania = anxiety is magically gone. Not feeling compelled to engage in or even forgetting certain OCD rituals is a symptom for me.

Mixed = anxious, agitated hell (here I would say anxiety is definitely part of the mood)

Mildly depressed = huge social anxiety

Severely depressed = too physically and mentally slowed down for anxiety
