I haven't seen any recent posts on this drug so here goes.

Because I'm sick of the weight gain, I'm in The process of switching from Lexapro + abilify to Lexapro + Latuda. My diagnosis is MDD, GAD and panic disorder. I loved Abilify, it was my miracle drug that made me a new person but with only one side effect, constant weight gain. Latuda hasn't been as effective so far but I'm going to try to go up on my dose.

i saw my pdoc today and she suggested that I do some research and see what I think about Rexulti (I actually really appreciate that she encourages me to do my own research).  She said if Latuda doesn't work, Rexulti is an option.

id like to hear about anyone's experiences on Rexulti, specifically whether it caused you to gain (or lose) weight. Other than controlling my depression, weight loss is my main goal right now. It's very hard to find anecdotal experience with this drug, as it's so new. Thanks!

I gained 50lbs on abilify but it worked great. I got off my meds about 5 months ago and everything went down hill. I was given rexulti and had restlessness and anxiety was given abilify again same thing. I don't remember having this last time I took abilify and it was a miracle besides the weight gain. I'm no on 20mg of latuda and can't figure out if it's working or not. I also take 200 of lamictal just worked up to it. I'm getting discouraged I feel like I have lots of anxiety and wonder if it could be the latuda.

How are you doing on it now?

I'm about a month in on the Latuda. I filled the prescription for the first time in 2016 and found out its $1000 before we meet our (large) deductible. So unfortunately I have to stop taking it. (Which means Rexulti is out of the question too.) But I don't think it was doing too much for me. I've felt slightly depressed and very tired and overwhelmed for a few weeks. I'm thinking about going back on the abilify. It's so hard trying all these different meds, I feel like a Guinea pig.

I always thought abilify was my saving grace and if I got bad again that's what I would take.  This time I couldn't tolerate the side effects and I have no idea why. My new doc also thinks it's not acceptable that I gained 50lbs and I also have sugar issues so I worry about that. I'm talking to my doc on friday about the latuda I'm not to thrilled with it. I do not remember having the side effects with abilify last time.

That is scary, I've never had any side effects other than the weight gain.

Sometimes when you stop taking a med, it doesn't work as well the second time you use it. I know this isn't what is going on in your case, but that is why it is so important not to quite meds without a Dr's supervision. That med may not work for you this time, is all.
