karolina1973
Is anyone here on this? I don't think it is doing a thing for me. I'm at 10mg. Also frome what I have read it makes people tired. It doesn't make me tired at all I loved Zyprexa, but I gained fifty fingers pounds. So got off that.?
Rabbit37
I'm always amazed when someone says that saphris doesn't make them tired. At 20mg, it made me an absolute walking zombie. Unfortunately, I just couldn't cope with that s/e, so I don't think I was on it long enough to give it a fair shake. You might need to go up in dosage? As long as you're not sleeping 22 hours a day, it might be worth a shot. For the short time I was on it, no weight gain. I think that was two months or so. iaawal
I was on it for about 6 months. I was pretty sleepy when I first started it but towards the end at 20mg it wouldn't make me sleepy or tired at all. Meds don't affect everyone the same. It could just be that maybe you need a higher dose. Saphris did take longer to work for me than zyprexa. Zyprexa worked crazy fast and with saphris it was about a week or so until it worked on my bp/psychosis.
Wonderful.Cheese
I took 20 mg for close to a year maybe? It did work so-so but I had this night eating problem. I'd wake up like 2 hours after I took it (it knocked me out, made me very sleepy). Which is weird because of how sedated I was. I would sleep eat though and just eat a ton of things. It was as bad as zyprexa hunger for me. So I tried it 2 times and the same night eating pattern occurred. I'm not sure what the heck was up with that because I haven't heard others complain of this. So YMMV. And I loved zyprexa too but the weight gain and subsequent sleep apnea that I developed were unacceptable and bad side effects. Ugh. ETA: Have you tried seroquel? krinkle1973
I haven't tried seroquel yet. I will ask Pdoc about it. It amazes me hoe we all react so differently to meds. It is so hard to get the right ones for ourselves. Thank you everyone for your input
