My pdoc wants me to try Clozapine again. I was on it a few years ago, but stopped it after a week or two for reasons I can't remember. The only thing I remember about it is how sedating it was. Does the sedation go away after a while?

I'm on my second round of it after ditching it a few years ago.  It's a favourite go-to med of the new pdoc I started seeing in 2015.  I'm only on 150mg, but have to take it at night because it knocks me out.  I don't know if it's the combo with Seroquel XR or the drug on its own, but there's no way I can use it during the day.  Part of the reason I'm taking it again was to knock a period of hideous insomnia on the head, so as far as I'm concerned, I don't want the sedation to go away.

As always, YMMV, so others may have had different experiences with it.

For me the sedation never went away.  I was only on it maybe 3-4 weeks though, so maybe if I had continued it the sedation would have gotten better.
