I have been "air typing" since highschool. Initially i thought it was a form of OCD, but it has a different quality. It is not bothersome as OCD (ego dystonic). As a psychiatrist, i think it is part of my adhd. It is a way to keep in motion. A form of hyperactivity. I read a lot of links about people air typing and glad am not alone. It never dawned on me that it could be part of my ADHD. A lot of you may not know but ADHD is a disorder of inhibition. I.e we do not have a breaking mechanism to allow our thoughts to converge, our motion to settle or our actions to be preceeded by logical cortical thought. Food for thought.

What is "air typing?"  I googled it and couldn't find a definition.

@melissaw72 it is like air guitar, only typing with no keyboard. I do it. In a way that isn't noticeable.

I have never been dx with OCD or ADHD.
